The Safe-xplore Platform
Safe-xplore is the world’s first travel risk rating and decision-support platform to adopt actuarial models to generate city level, personalized health, accidents, and crime risk estimates for hundreds of global travel destinations.
We use big data, analytics, along with human and Artificial Intelligence (AI) to deliver personalized and location-specific risk rates and insights that elevate the travelers’ understanding of the destination’s risks and how to mitigate them.
Our data-driven methodology is paired with cognitive-behavioral science insights resulting in clear and specific risk ratings that compare destinations to the home/familiar geography.
Safe-xplore city ratings extend to over 1200 global destinations, uniquely including over 130 U.S. cities.
(This is of particular significance given that domestic and inbound trips vastly outnumber US outbound ones, and that many US cities present among the highest violent crime risks among high-income nations.)
In addition to industry-leading life and limb risk ratings, Safe-xplore reports include a five-point scale rating for nine highly consequential risk drivers for travelers including Quality of Emergency Medical Care, Female and LGBTQ+ Travelers concerns, Quality of Law Enforcement, etc.

Implementation Details
Sample Method
The destination ‘lookup’ widget is rendered by a JS code in a self-sufficient JS file (~10kb) embeddable in any travel-related app or article’s HTML page.
The JS code updates the page’s DOM and includes graphical elements for a user’s input form.
Following the selection of the traveler's info, users are redirected to a new dedicated URL, (i.e. https://yourbrand.safe-xplore.com) in a separate browser tab with the initial (free) results.
Alternatively, the JS code can run a GET request to Safe-xplore backend and update the DOM with the HTML code rendering the form.
Integration Options
After the JS code snippet development it can be included in an articles page either via specific A/B testing software (such as Optimizely, Google Optimize, etc.) or simply as a dedicated front end component in a proper layout.
